Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking a perfectrental home:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. \"Shore Enough\" 2 Bed\/1 Bath Cottage in Oceanlakes N-19 *complimentary golf cart* has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Contact the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
