Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Shoreline Hideaway: Family Fun by the Sea has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
