Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Sky-High Luxury 8th Floor 3 Bdrm Oceanfront Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
