Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the best vacation home:

  • Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Mid term rental for travel professionals or snowbirds. Pet-friendly! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
