Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and pick your prefectvacation home:
- First, have your family agree to dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Serenity on the 12th Floor Oceanfront King Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
