Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Find your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best rental:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Serenity on the 12th Floor Oceanfront King Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
