Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Serenity on the 12th Floor Oceanfront King Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is best for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
