Our top Rental booking tips:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. South Tower JJ4- Oceanfront-What a View! Remodeled Kitchen & Baths! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
