Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Select your vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Southern Exposure Deluxe - World Tour Golf Resort has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
