Rental home booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the largest rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Spacious.. & Ready for Summer Fun!!Sat-Sat summer booking only has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
