Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Spacious Ocean View King Suite w\/ Balcony + Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
