Our top Vacation rental tips:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Filter your search:
- First, have your group commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Spacious Ocean View Elegance 3 Bdrm Condo 3rd Flr has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
