Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:

- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Spectacular OCEAN VIEWS - Fabulous South Hampton 3rd floor unit - Updated has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, call the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Tips for a great stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
