Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your family choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Calming Oceanfront Suite, Dogs are Welcome! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback.
