Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the largest rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Winter Rates! Calming Oceanfront Suite, Dogs OK! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
