How to find the best vacation home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Calming Oceanfront Suite, Dogs are Welcome! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
