Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. SPECTACULAR OCEANFRONT CONDO -2 BEDROOM, 2 BATH, SLEEPS 5 at OCEAN FOREST VILLAS has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
