How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your search:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Private Pool Luxe Golf Cart (By Beach Star) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
