Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Splendid Condo-408 Royale Palms-Full Access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
