Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Fall Deals-Steps 2 Beach-Remodeled-Wide Oceanviews-Lrg Balconies-Pool-Hottub has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
