Strategies for getting the perfect rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. OceanView 3BR Condo 10th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
