Vacation rental tips and tricks:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. APATBV-B-Down the SC Shore-1st Floor, Ground Floor, Steps to the Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
