Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. STEPS TO WATER PARK-BEACH ~2BR\/2BA HOUSE~OCEAN LAKES~GOLF CART~WI FI\nM-50 Disc%\n has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If not, call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
