Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Newly Renovated Double Balcony 2 Bedroom Condo! With LED Fireplace- Anderson Ocean Club 905 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
