Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing and booking the rightvacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 19th-floor oceanfront condo with high-speed WiFi & central AC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
