Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking the bestvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 19th-floor oceanfront condo with high-speed WiFi & central AC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
