How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your family choose the best dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Stylish 1BR on the ground floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your group.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
