Strategies for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- To start, have your family select the best dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Suite w\/ Double Beds and Side View of Ocean + Pool Onsite has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
