How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Wyndham SeaWatch Plantation - 2 Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
