Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Wyndham SeaWatch Plantation - 2 Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
