Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Selecting and booking a perfectrental:
- First, have your group agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Wyndham SeaWatch Plantation - 2 Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
