Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking the perfectrental home:

- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review.
