Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Find your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sunny Getaway * 1BR condo close to the beach (E) has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
