Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning, picking, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Beach*2BR*Pool*Walk to Attractions*FREE Tickets*M34 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
