Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Beach*2BR*Pool*Walk to Attractions*FREE Tickets*M34 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If not, call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
