Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The Grand Myrtle \/ BAY VIEW 1503 \/ New Remodel has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your group.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
