Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Fully Renovated, Large Condo, Walk to Beach, in the Heart of Myrtle! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
