Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your group select vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Pelicans Landing 327 end unit just 5 minutes from the Beach. Free Daily Activiti has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
