Tricks and tips to get the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Totally Renovated Family Friendly Beach Bungalow has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
