Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by having your group select dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Totally Renovated Family Friendly Beach Bungalow has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
