Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the perfectvacation home:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Turtle Cove - Modern Oceanfront 3 BR Condo with Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
