Rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- To find the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Close to beach, Pet friendly, Golf cart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
