Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the perfect rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. New High Floor, Direct Sea Watch, Beautiful Decor! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
