Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Unparalleled Luxury 1BR King Suite 15th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
