How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Updated Ocean View Studio- Sea Mist 51403 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
