Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. UPDATED Oceanfront Suite w\/ Breathtaking Views! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
