- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your family agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.

- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:

- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
