Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best rental within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best vacation home:
- To start, have your family decide on dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Stunning Oceanfront 2 Bedroom Suite- Sailfish Resort 1111 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
