Booking the best vacation property experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Updated Oceanview King Studio! Sleeps 4! Sea Mist 51104 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
