How to find the best rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • First, have your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront Views, Heated Pools New - High Floor! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is best for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your invoice.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
