Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the rightrental:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Vibrant 4 BR Home Close to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
