Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
