Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- To start, have your group decide on dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 1442 BEAUTIFUL BEACH HOUSE W\/5 BRS, 3.5 BATHS! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
