Finding the best vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best vacation home:
- First, have your group select trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Walk to Ocean: Home w\/ 2 Balconies in Myrtle Beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
