Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to select the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront!!! Make wonderful Memories With Your Family!\n has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
