Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Well Kept Family Owned Myrtle Beach Vacation Condo steps from the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
