Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Well Kept Family Owned Myrtle Beach Vacation Condo steps from the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Advice for a great stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
