Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Welcome to Waterway Getaway - Your home away from home! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
