Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Take Me to the Sea, 2 Bdr 1.5 Ba in Ocean Lakes has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
