Finding the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your group select date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Wonderful oceanview condo, 3 bedrms, near to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
